- Wait for about 75 days from sowing before harvesting your carrot.
- Grab the foliage and give it a pull. At the same time loosen the soil with a garden fork.
- Pull and shake off soil.
- Cut off the green tops.
- Carrots can be left in the ground for an additional four weeks or even longer in winter.
- Make sure you harvest the last of the carrots before the ground freezes solid or gets too wet.
- Leave a couple of carrots to go to seed.
