- Collect the plant which was lifted in the autumn.
- Dig a hole twice the size of the pot.
- Without letting any of the soil fall away from the roots, place the plant in the hole.
- Fill the gaps around the plant with loose soil.
- Firm the soil.
- Water well.
- Like the other vegetables, the plant will be fed and watered through the summer, but will not be trimmed or harvested.
- By doing this the plant will produce seeds.
- Have a label next to the plant which says: “this plant is grown for seeds – feed and water, but do not cut or harvest“.
- NB Do not use hybrid F1 plants.
