- Collect old cardboard and flatten it into sheets.
- With this, cover the vegetable beds.
- With rotted down compost cover the top so that the cardboard is weighted down and will not blow away.
- This will keep the weeds down.
- Eventually the cardboard will break down.
- Once broken down the cardboard is ready for digging in (wait until the spring time).
